What is this about?

SmartD Technologies is disrupting the century-old industry of electrical motor control with the introduction of its Silicon Carbide-based variable frequency drive (VFD). The SmartD Clean Power VFD brings increased efficiency, extended motor lifetime, and simplified engineering to this market.

As we increase our market presence and extend our product line we’re looking for a talented individual who is both comfortable at analyzing designs to validate their reliability and working hands-on in a power electronics lab.

If you’re passionate about power electronics and their reliability;
If you’re an expert at validating power electronics systems in a lab; and
If you want to work with a small, dedicated, and effective team.

Then, you should contact us right away. (Or read-on to get details of who we’re looking for.)

You should be an expert in:

  • Power Electronics reliability analysis.
  • Electronic test strategies.
  • And if you’re familiar with motor control, all the better.

And this is what we’d expect of you:

  • Perform the Reliability Analysis of various power electronics products for different mission profiles, including DMA (Design Margin Analysis), FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis) and FTA (Fault Tree Analysis).
  • Work closely with the Design Team and other key stakeholders (e.g. Supply Chain, manufacturers, suppliers) in getting the required information with a focus on useful life, shelf life, failure mechanisms, etc.
  • Perform ULA (Useful Life Analysis) and SLA (Shelf Life Analysis) in collaboration with the Design Team.
  • Design the plan and ensure the execution of the Accelerated Stress Test, implementing relevant test methods such as Accelerated Reliability Testing (ART), Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT)
  • Drive the Reliability and Certification Test strategy and drive the tests to completion.
  • Assess the Reliability and Certification Test results and drive for product reliability improvements.
  • Be the expert for standards and Reliability/Certification Testing for SmartD.
  • Advise the development teams on reliability and certification standards compliance;
  • Engage with third-party testing labs to plan, execute, and successfully complete independent product certification;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You will be part of an experienced start-up team where:

  • Your voice will be heard and you will feel the impact of your work;
  • You won’t lose time in endless meetings or presentations;
